About Coach and The Doctor
Coach and The Doctor delves into the challenges and triumphs of people living with a disability, and dissects the ins and out of the NDIS – the good, the bad and the ugly. It is hosted by The Coach (Geoff Field) and The Doctor (Danny Staffieri), radio veterans now both working in the disability support sector. Combining their media background with their passion for disability advocacy and awareness, the weekly podcast hosts professionals in the disability space, as well as those with lived experience with a disability. The Coach and the Doctor might not take themselves too seriously, but they don’t shy away from the serious topics, as they strive to reduce the stigma surrounding disability and inform through education and experience.
Featured guests have included Liesl Tesch MP, Jordon Steele-John MP, Blake Cochrane (Paralympian), Cian O’Clery (director of Love on the Spectrum), Tim Nield (AFL Disability and Inclusion Director), Joe Williams (NRL player) and various other athletes, comedians, musicians and researchers in different fields of disability.
About the Hosts
The Coach and the Doctor have collectively spent over 50 years in the media industry here in Australia and overseas.
Coach (Geoff Field) honed his skills interviewing anybody who was prepared to talk to him (which was pretty much everyone!) on radio programs such as Fox FM. Gold 104.3, TripleM, and EON Sports Radio, and at events such as Wimbledon and the Australian Open.
The Doctor (Danny Staffieri) kept the wheels turning behind the scenes in both radio and television. His sense of humour and quick wit was wasted behind the scenes and is now flourishing on the microphone.
Together, the Coach and the Doctor take you on a ride every week that sometimes can be confronting, but is always informative and entertaining. They look forward to being a part of your podcast library.
